voidsy wins the State Prize for Innovation 2025 in gold

We have reason to celebrate: voidsy gmbh has been awarded gold in the “Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises” category of the State Prize for Innovation 2025! There were a total of 83 submissions, 43 of which were in our category – so we are all the more delighted that our development “voidsy 3D V-ROX: Effizienz trifft Innovation – Der intelligente Blick ins Bauteilinnere” impressed the jury.

3D V-ROX – a breakthrough in non-destructive testing

With our 3D V-ROX system, we have developed the world's first commercial implementation of photothermal tomography. This technology enables three-dimensional, high-resolution, non-contact defect detection in safety-critical components – without the need for coupling media, ionizing radiation, or chemical substances.

The advantages are obvious:

• Efficiency – up to 80% lower testing costs compared to conventional ultrasonic methods
• Speed – Inline capability for continuous real-time quality assurance
• Sustainability – emission-free, resource-saving technology without pollutants
• Scalability – from complex individual components to series production

Industries such as aerospace, automotive, and energy benefit particularly from these properties.

From the initial idea in 2022 to the market launch in June 2025, our team has invested over one million euros in the development of the 3D V-ROX system. Supported by national and European funding programs (including AWS PreSeed/Seed Deep-Tech and a basic program from the FFG), we were able to consistently implement our vision.

Today, we are proud to have acquired our first customers not only in Austria, but also in Europe, the US, and China. With a clear internationalization strategy, we aim to achieve a 5% market share in the field of non-destructive testing by 2029.

Responsible innovation

In addition to technical excellence, environmental protection is particularly important to us. The 3D V-ROX system features environmentally friendly technology. The elimination of coupling media, chemical substances, and ionizing radiation reduces environmental impact and makes inspection processes more sustainable. Optimized defect detection also minimizes material waste, conserving resources and reducing costs. Energy-efficient process control helps to reduce the carbon footprint of industrial manufacturing processes.
