voidsy wins the Austrian PHÖNIX Startup Award

Big news for voidsy: We have been awarded the Austrian PHÖNIX Startup Award in the “Startup” category.

Following our win of the Upper Austrian State Prize for Innovation, this national award marks another significant milestone for our company—and serves as a strong endorsement of our vision to revolutionize non-destructive testing with a completely new technology.

One of Austria's most prestigious startup awards

The Austrian PHÖNIX Startup Award is one of the most prestigious awards for technology-oriented startups in Austria. The award is presented annually by the Federal Ministries of Economy and Science and Research in collaboration with key institutions of the innovation ecosystem—including aws, FFG, and the Federation of Austrian Industries. It honors projects that combine scientific excellence with entrepreneurial potential.

Every year, outstanding innovations are recognized in four categories:

• Start-up
• Spin-off
• Prototyp
• Female Entrepreneurs

We are particularly proud that voidsy emerged as the winner in the startup category.

Technology that makes the invisible visible

At the heart of our work is our 3D V-ROX photothermal tomography system. Using this technology, we have developed a novel form of photothermal tomography that, for the first time, enables high-resolution 3D inspection of materials and components without contact and without coupling media. Our system uses thermal signatures to reveal hidden defects inside components without damaging them.

This technology opens up new possibilities for non-destructive testing (NDT), particularly in industries with the highest safety standards, such as the aerospace and renewable energy sectors.

Our mission is clear – To sustainably improve quality, safety, and efficiency in industrial production processes.

Another milestone for voidsy

Winning the PHÖNIX Award follows another major achievement: in 2025, voidsy was already awarded the Upper Austria State Prize for Innovation in Gold.

Both awards highlight the potential of our technology and demonstrate that our work is highly regarded in both research and industrial applications.
